The difference between DVCAM with IC Memory and no IC Memory

DVCAM is a professional digital 6mm tape. It delivers the superior image quality that DV compression affords and thus is ideal for both high-quality editing and low-cost acquisition.

  • DVCAM Series with IC Memory

Certain models od DVCAM cassettes possess a memory chip. The chip memory communicates with the microprocessor of the camera and memorizes various parameters as a list of indexed sequences. This memory has a capacity of 16 KBits on DVCAM tapes and can be used for recording of various types of data relevant to the picture shoot and consequently facilitate the post production. These tapes are perfect to use in DVCAM equipment providing the ClipLink capability.
