Sony HDCam SR uses a higher particle density tape and a higher bitrate to capture much more of the full bandwidth of the HDSDI signal. Sony HD Cam SR is available in small (camera) sized HD Cam SR tapes and large (editing) sized HD Cam SR tapes.
